YOGA:
Isabel Lambert has been practicing yoga for 8 years. In 2000, she completed 500
hour Bikram yoga teacher training with Bikram Choudhury in Los Angeles and since then has
taught in such diverse places as Australia, Europe, New York and Los Angeles. She has
completed training in Power yoga at the New York Yoga Studio, in Vinyasa yoga with John
Cavanaugh and has studied with John Friend of Anusara yoga and Mary Jarvis of Global yoga.
Isabel has a gymnastics and figure skating background which has evolved into a long
standing interest in the abilities of the human body and spirit. The Tula Hot Hatha series
is a culmination of the best techniques she has learnt. Isabel has a friendly and
respectful attitude towards her students and believes that learning is most productive in
a positive and energetic environment. She is very happy to be part of the teacher training
yoga program.
YOGA:
Sarah Azzam started practicing yoga at her local gym when she was fifteen years old and
from there her love of yoga escalated. She did her first teacher training course in 2001
at the Yoga Sanctuary, practicing under Cynthia Funk and Jonathan Austman. She then went
on to do David Swenson's Intensive teacher training course in Montreal in 2002 and also
Downward Dog's year long teacher training program. Sarah has been teaching since 2003, not
only in Toronto but around Europe too. She loves the atmosphere at Tula and enjoys
teaching flowing, vigorous classes like Hot Power Flow. Sarah teachers both Hatha and
Vinyasa Flow but in this Teacher Training her primary focus is Vinyasa Flow. She has an
encouraging and motivating teaching style.
YOGA:
Grace Dubery first discovered yoga in 2002 while studying in Montreal. The challenging
Ashtanga classes she first took up kept her coming back for more. There was nothing better
than the sense of calm and peace she would achieve in her everyday practice. She also
found a greater capacity for concentration and dedication for her school work, granted by
an overall yogic inspiration. Upon returning to Toronto she kept practicing for the years
ahead until finally advised to pursue her teacher training. Her classes are vigorous, yet
relaxing and always invite variation and pursuit of knowledge. There is a calming quality
to them, which is led by a gentle hands-on approach. Grace believes the pursuit of a
deeper yoga practice is the basis for the ultimate search and attainment of
self-knowledge. This is the challenging goal she encourages all to explore in a safe
environment she provides for her students at Tula Yoga Studios.

I loved my teacher training experience at Tula. The teachers are passionate and
knowledgeable, and the environment is welcoming and non-competitive. I feel confident in
my teaching ability and I would recommend the teacher training to anyone who wanted to
expand their knowledge of yoga. The scheduling even fit into my busy lifestyle.
Lisa Kitteringham
Before starting my yoga teacher training at Tula I was under the impression that I
was going to do it just to enhance my yoga practice. But after being around all these
amazing teachers, their passion for yoga teaching and their confidence in me and my
abilities was just so infectious that I can't wait to start teaching now! The months I
spent in training were so educational, not just physically but also mentally and
emotionally. I met some amazing people, teachers and students. The teachers promoted such
a feeling of cohesion between the students that we all got really really close by the end
of the course and we were so sad to be done! I am so grateful for the experience and so
grateful for everything that I got out of it. Even though there are so many yoga studios
that are much closer to where I live, Tula was worth the 45 minute trek.
Marwah Younis
I know I have already thanked you many times, but I just wanted to thank you again
and give you some feedback on why the Tula teacher training course was so beneficial.
Firstly, the environment in the classes - training and in general was not competitive
which really appealed to me. This was my first yoga studio experience, but I have heard
that other studios aren't like this. All of the instructors that we had were very
different and taught us a great deal more than simply what was on the syllabus, as they
were so open to sharing their own experiences. As well as increasing our knowledge, this
openness really helped the class to open up I felt. I loved that you have developed Tula
so that instructors can develop as individuals. This actually helped me out a lot at work.
I think that it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself in my life. I cant
thank you enough for giving me that opportunity.

...an atmosphere that promotes the physical artistry of an antique and
spiritual art form.
W.G. McLaughlin, M.A.
Being in the financial industry I need to find balance in my life. Two years ago, I
was introduced to yoga and since fell in love with it. So much, that I wanted to share my
passion for yoga to whomever wanted to learn. When Tula introduced a teacher training
program I jumped on board. The teacher training was perfect, not only did it work with my
hectic schedule, I learned the different parts of yoga and the teachers were great
resources. If you are like me, I encourage anyone interested to sign up.
Asmita Kanungo
I really enjoyed the teacher training program at Tula since it made me more aware
of my body and how the postures in class will benefit me. The training program has
encouraged me to become more physically fit due to yoga attendance requirements 3 X a
week. I find I have developed a healthier perspective on life and am more receptive to
what my body and mind need. I also feel more confident in helping others since I know how
to do the postures correctly, I also know how to do adjustments. I strongly recommend
joining this teacher training program if you are health-oriented and willing to help
others. It also encourages more self-awareness and spiritual growth to help balance life,
which is really important in this fast paced environment.
